The above mentioned yard sales are always great ways to sell second hand items. You have to do a few things to have a very successful and profitable sale, however. You always have to have some type of advertisement. There are going to be people who drive by, but you can get more traffic than that. Find other families to go in on the sale with you, and use the yard with the most traffic going by. Have some larger ticket items to draw people in, and always be willing to negotiate. Some make very good money with this way of selling second hand items.

If you have many things, but you don’t want to have a yard sale, you can sell second hand by signing up for a booth at a flea market in your area. This won’t cost you much more than advertising would for a yard sale, and you have at least some guaranteed numbers that will come through. You will have to have a way to get your stuff back and forth, and the time to go each weekend. Some find this is a great way to sell second hand things, and many add crafts or other smaller items to the mix.

For those that are really serious about selling second hand items, and find that they have great success with it, they always have the option of opening up a store to sell second hand. This is not for everyone, as those that do it often start out small and find that they have a good time doing it and have a knack for it.
